Valentine’s Day is a time to spread love and spend time with family and friends. In today’s Wildwood Towers Apartments Blog, we want to spread the love by sharing some delicious Valentine’s Day desserts for you to try out at your apartment. We hope you enjoy one of these tasty treats and have a great time with loved ones here in Arlington, VA.   Molten Chocolate Lava Cakes from Midwest Living These lava cakes are so warm, gooey, and delicious for a Valentine’s Day dessert. To make it you’ll need butter, bittersweet chocolate, eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla, all-purpose flour, and powdered sugar.   The Most Chocolate Pudding from Country Living This chocolate pudding is such a great treat to make ahead of time and to decorate in some pretty glass jars or cups. Gather up these ingredients to make them: bittersweet chocolate, butter, vanilla extract, sugar, cocoa, cornstarch, salt, egg yolks, whipped cream (optional), and chocolate shavings (optional).   Valentine Cookies from Martha Stewart Valentine cookies are a must this time of year. It’s a fun way to celebrate the holiday with kids as well. To make these cookies you’ll need these ingredients: unsalted butter, sugar, eggs, all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, buttermilk, petal dust (optional), sanding sugar in pink or white (optional), and apricot or strawberry jam (optional).   Red Velvet Swirl Fudge from Delish Fudge is never a bad idea and this red velvet fudge is perfect for Valentine’s Day. You’ll need milk chocolate chips, cocoa powder, sweetened condensed milk, white chocolate chips, red food coloring, and salt.   Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie from Food Network For a group gathering, make this chocolate peanut butter pie to make everyone happy. Super Bowl Desserts-image

Super Bowl Sunday is just around the corner, on February 4th! Are you excited for the big game? Whether you are a football fan or not, the Wildwood Towers Blog has some sensational dessert recipes to share that are guaranteed to make your super bowl a little sweeter, no matter the final score!   Game Day Chocolate Cake from The Food Network Everybody loves cake! This game day chocolate cake is made in a 9x11 inch pan and decorated to look just like a miniature football field. The recipe even gives you the option to take it a step further by topping the cake with sugar cookies decorated like footballs. For the cake, you will need flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, semisweet chocolate, baking soda, salt, eggs, sugar, vegetable oil, buttermilk, and pure vanilla extract. For the icing: sugar, egg whites, lemon juice or cream of tartar, salt, unsalted butter, cocoa powder, and semisweet or bittersweet chocolate.   Peanut Butter Football Cookie from The Food Network This giant football cookie is shaped like an oversized football with laces made from white frosting. Here is everything you will need: nonstick cooking spray, old-fashioned oats, flour, baking soda, fine salt, unsalted butter, sugar, eggs, smooth peanut butter, and pure vanilla extract. For the frosting: unsalted butter, powdered sugar, milk, pure vanilla extract, and salt.   Pull Apart Touchdown Cupcakes from The Food Network Build a football field with several rows of cupcakes, frost them, cover the frosting with green sprinkles to look like grass, and use white frosting to make the lines and numbers on the “field.” You can also use two colors of gummy bears and set them up top of the cupcakes. Happy new year and welcome back to the Wildwood Towers Apartments Blog! Did you know that January is National Soup Month? In honor of this month-long holiday, we are sharing a few soup recipes with members of our apartment community to help them celebrate.   Chicken and Dumpling Soup from Cook The Story This comforting classic will warm you up and fill your belly for a super satisfying winter meal. Ingredients include chicken broth, olive oil, butter, shredded carrots, onion, fresh parsley leaves, boneless chicken thighs, salt, flour, baking powder, eggs, milk, and heavy cream.   Loaded Potato Soup from My Recipes This soup contains all the toppings that you would put on a baked potato! Creamy and filling, soup doesn’t get much better than this. Ingredients needed include the following: red potatoes, olive oil, onion, chicken broth, flour, milk, sour cream, salt, freshly ground pepper, bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, and green onions. Bon apetit!   Creole Chicken Gumbo Soup from Tablespoon This spicy chicken gumbo will definitely turn up the heat in your mouth! Here’s everything you will need: butter, green bell pepper, chopped onion, minced garlic, flour, water, chicken broth, whole tomatoes, frozen cut okra, cubed cooked chicken, long-grain white rice, dried thyme leaves, a bay leaf, and a few drops of hot pepper sauce.   Roasted Tomato Basil Soup from The Food Network Smooth and creamy, this is how tomato soup should be. This fresh, homemade version is so much better than any canned version you will find. To make it, you will need ripe plum tomatoes, olive oil, salt, black pepper, yellow onions, minced garlic, unsalted butter, red pepper flakes, canned plum tomatoes with the juice, fresh basil leaves, fresh thyme, and chicken stock or water.   Creamy Garlic Mushroom Soup from Budget Bytes An earthy soup, this dish is flavored with mushrooms and garlic and plenty of other spices. Ingredients include baby bella mushrooms, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, butter, flour, vegetable broth, water, dried thyme, heavy cream, and soy sauce.   Do you have a favorite soup recipe?
